Heavy antique gold finish (intentionally oxidised metal that mimics the depth of aged gold) gives this set its authority. The necklace follows the South Indian temple jewellery tradition, dense repoussé (a technique of hammering metal from the reverse to raise intricate surface relief) detailing, a large mor (peacock) pendant, and a border of granulated gold beads. Ruby-pink and emerald-green stone accents punctuate the surface. The chandbali-style (crescent-drop) earrings and fan-shaped maang tikka complete a look that is unmistakably classical.
