The jhumka that speaks entirely through craft rather than spectacle. The hook is fashioned as a feather or leaf that arches into a flat-topped bell covered entirely in granulation. Ruby-toned oval stones sit just below the top edge of the bell, adding a discreet flush of colour to the warm antique gold. The Jhumka itself is built in tiers, each row defined by lines of granulation that give way at the base to a suspended row of larger textured gold balls — Ghunghroo (ornamental spherical drops) — that sway and catch light with the wearer's movement.
